The Rules

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Omega Gateway provides the services to you, the visitor, based on its Terms of Service outlined here. When using the services provided by Omega Gateway, you are subject to the following terms. Using this site denotes acceptance of these terms. The TOS may be changed anytime without prior notice to individual visitors. If you cannot find the answer to something here, feel free to ask on the forums.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

To register on the Omega Gateway message boards and to access services within, you must register using a valid e-mail. In addition, to comply with United States Law, all registrants must be 13 years of age or (preferably) older. Upon registration, an Activation Key will be e-mailed to you in the form of a link. You must visit said link to activate your account. No posting privileges shall be granted until activation, and inactivated accounts will likely be deleted 48 hours after creation.

CONTENT NOTICE

By agreeing to these service terms, you agree you've reached the understanding that each individual user is held responsible for the content they have posted, and that the staff, site owner, or site's webhost shall not be held responsible for content posted by users. By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you are agreeing to waive all rights to legal action, civil or otherwise, against the staff, site owner, or site's webhost regarding anything site-related. Note that we sometimes cannot control the content posted and cannot guarantee truthfulness or quality of said content.

ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITY

You and you alone are responsible for your forum account and all your on-site actions. To help prevent unauthorized account access, you should use a complex password that you will remember and that you use only for this site. As hackers and pseudo-hackers often keep password lists of past "targets", we suggest you do this anywhere on the internet that requires one. Also, the usage of more than one account on one particular computer on this site will create a trail or "usermap" of accessed accounts. Keep in mind sharing an account or accessing another account leaves an entry on your "usermap" that we can track back to you.

PRIVACY AND RELEASE OF INFORMATION

Omega Gateway collects information limited to your ISP, your IP address, your signup email, and impersonal information regarding the volume and makeup of site vistors. The release of any further information is entirely up to you. We will not release any of your collected information unless it is required by law enforcement or warrented in extremely serious matters. If someone claiming to be representing our site asks for your private information, chances are they are trying to hijack your account; you should report this to us at once, as we are willing and often able to offer assistance in such matters.

MEMBER CONDUCT

This is a brief summary of the site rules, and by agreeing to this contract, you are agreeing to abide by them.

  • Golden Rule: We're not harsh here, and all we basically ask is for you to conduct yourself like a decently educated civilized human being. It's not hard, and it's not asking much.

  • Play Nice:
    Don't constantly insult anyone. Joking around with people is one thing, but taking low shots and not letting things go is another. Feel free to debate and argue about anything you want, but keep it relatively civilized.

  • Don't Annoy People:
    Don't act like an infantile child. Yes, being able to act a bit immature sometimes is a reason people join forums in the first place, but nobody likes a troll. Well, at least one that doesn't entertain the majority.

  • Script Kiddy Punks F**k Off:
    Trying to hijack accounts, exploit the site's code in a manner not benifitting the site, or do anything else malicious and you're getting banned and then some. Might even report you to your ISP and make your mommy get on your little ass if we're having a bad day. Mmmkay?

  • Break, Break, Breakin' The Law:
    Disregarding the law of the United States of America in any manner won't be tolerated. Don't link to pirated files, and certainly don't upload anything to our site that violates the law. We will report serious violations to law enforcement officials.

  • Sucky Sucky, Me Love You Long Time:
    We're not big fans of pornographic material here. There are literally billions of other webpages for that kind of stuff, so please keep it off site.

    • TERMS VIOLATIONS

    Topics, uploaded content, and message posts that violate the TOS may be deleted from the forums. In addition to this, penalties such as the deduction of Activity or Respect Points or a brief suspension of site services may be applied at our discretion. Anything you add may be removed at any time and for any reason at our sole discretion. All determinations of what is "acceptable" and "unacceptable" content will be determined solely by us, as this site is not quite a Democracy. Repeated or severe violations are cause for the termination of your account, denial of all access of the site from your IP address or your entire usermap, and contacting your ISP and other relevant parties concerning your activities.
